Welcome Victor !
Victor Grangier will be joining the CNRS in Strasbourg in October 2025 as a Doctoral Candidate.
In the framework of the MonaLisa project, Victor will spend 3 years working on “Photo-activated molecular motors for supramolecular phase transitions.“, while participating in many trainings and network events.

Tell us more about your background!
I am 25 years old and originally from Nancy, France. I began my academic journey in Strasbourg, where I studied biology, before pursuing a bio-engineering program with a specialization in chemistry in Belgium.
Why do you want to be part of MonaLisa?
MonaLisa offers a unique interdisciplinary and international environment, bringing together molecular design, materials science, and advanced training. I believe it is the ideal framework to grow as a researcher, develop new skills, and contribute to cutting-edge projects on molecular machines that can bridge the gap between molecular motion and macroscopic function.
What are your expectations of living and working in Strasbourg?
As I fell in love of the city few years ago during my biology studies, returning to Strasbourg is for me delightful and nostalgic. I am also eager and motivated to work and collaborate with the research teams at the Charles Sadron Institute.
What do you think will be your main challenge for you in the next three years?
The main challenge will be to master the integration of molecular motors into supramolecular hydrogels, and to connect molecular-scale motion with macroscopic phase transitions, while balancing research, training, and dissemination activities.
