Second Training School:
The second MonaLisa training school will be held in Liege-Brussels in September 2026.
The Second Training School (TS2) is the second session in this series of four training courses. The TS2 has several objectives.
Previously the KOM brought together all the DCs and PIs. This enabled the DCs to expand their scientific knowledge of the network, and to get to know the other DCs involved in the project.
The TS2 has several objectives.
Firstly, the DCs will be, again, brought together, and they will participate in a poster session in front of guest speakers that aren’t a part of the network. Presenting a poster session is essential for researchers because it allows them to effectively communicate their research. A scientific poster is a presentation tool that remains accessible and lasts longer than an oral presentation at a conference.
Secondly, as the name suggests, the course will also provide training.
During the TS2, one day and a half will be devoted to scientific training provided by guest speakers on the theme of “Focus on self-assembly at and out of thermodynamic equilibrium“.
One day will be devoted to transversal training where they will attend lectures on the following topics:
– Gender and Diversity aspects in academic and industry,
– Communication to different audiences.
And finally, one day will be devoted to visit the ERC, and Syensqo in Brussels.

Objectives:
Open up the network’s events to other relevant scientists (not members of the network).
Having lectures on “Focus on self-assembly at and out of thermodynamic equilibrium“.
Visit Syensqo and the European Research Council.
The Second Training School was a resounding success. Doctoral Candidates, Training and Coordinating teams had the opportunity to meet again and attend both scientifics and transversals lectures. They also got the chance to visit Syensqo, the European Research Council, the House of the European History, the Parlementarium and finally both Liège and Brussels.
